On the 26th and 27th of September, I was performing for the Federation of American Women's Clubs in Central Scotland. I played a small recitation of harp and piano on Friday and did a talk with a presentation on the Saturday afternoon. Everyone was very appreciative of both my performance and my talk. I had to adapt my presentation to include some parts about music study as well as what music means to me. The talk went very well with the PowerPoint presentation working like clockwork with one of the organisers of FAWCO, Amanda Drollinger, clicking the slides.
A couple things I forgot to mention in my presentation were the ZASS collaborations and the fundraising CD for the Light of Love Children's Home in Tuni, southern India. However, I managed to keep to the specified time, which was good because there were some other people after me.
I wasn't the only person taking part on both days. On the Friday, a young lady called Julia Goldsby, the ambassador for FAWCO, talked about the youth programme. On the Saturday, there were two other lady speakers placed after me on the agenda. Their names were Michele Kendrickse Du Bois and Johanna Dihong. I also received a free membership to FAWCO which means I will be added to their mailing list for their e-newsletter so I'll be included with other members in updates for further events.
