Listened to episode 1 of a Radio4 3 part series Arts Technologica:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1d470snp5Gf8JtfHK7fzmRz/the-broadband-played-on-linking-musicians-across-the-world
This episode, was all about music and how technology is changing how we make music.
The idea is that faster internet connections will soon be giving us the opportunity to participate in online music making in real time. This is already happening to a small extent through universities using a network called ‘Janet’ which I was vaguely aware of already. https://www.ja.net
The very talented Su-a Lee is featured using Janet from Edinburgh Napier University to rehearse with a student at The Royal College Of Music in London.
Of special interest for my project was to hear Eric Whitacre, a composer of choral works and choral director, speak about his ‘virtual choir’.
