This is something that Dr. O'Callaghan said a few weeks ago and it has been coming back to me this week. I am going to try and get to grips with statement until I fully understand it.
One explanation I have found that I like so far is:
'If a creative artefact is the basis of the contribution to knowledge, the research is practice-based.
If the research leads primarily to new understandings about practice, it is practice-led.'
